Not either–or but both–and

Courage is doing things even when you are scared. Therefore, courage is also one of the qualities associated with entrepreneurship. However, emphasizing it may raise the bar to start a business – am I brave enough? The bar is also raised by unnecessary confrontation between entrepreneurship and employment – how can I make this big choice between them? How about if we changed our thinking more in the direction that one shouldn’t make a strict line and choice between these two, but instead we would emphasize the natural alternation and coexistence of them both in our careers? Let’s encourage each other to do all the diverse and active things that help us to maintain a better society and the happiness in our own lives – no matter whether done through our own company or as an employee.

Issues related to entrepreneurship are big things in the life of an individual but they are also crucial to the success of society as a whole. Our welfare state lives by entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking. Therefore also encouragement to entrepreneurship is good to be understood more broadly. It doesn’t intend to create a world where everyone would be an entrepreneur. More essentially, it intends to create appreciation for different forms of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs, and encourage us all to strive for entrepreneurial activities every day – determination, creative ideas and getting involved. This way, our own activities support those who become entrepreneurs, we create an entrepreneur-friendly atmosphere, and make the best possible contribution to our employers.

Our welfare state lives by entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking.

We Fennians have believed in the power of doing this for almost 140 years – in an era when the conditions for the existence, living and entrepreneurship of all mankind have been revolutionised. As the guarantor of our clients’ financial well-being and continuity of the quality of life, we have shared their risks in rapidly changing situations so that they have been able to live and focus on their business to the fullest and with a peace of mind and by focusing on what is important to them.

Let’s reduce the creation of unnecessary fears and prejudices as well as the confrontation related to entrepreneurship, together! Taking big steps in your own career would then feel less intimidating. Starting your own business or side job alongside daytime work is a good way to test your own business idea. Let’s all boldly engage in entrepreneurship – one way or another!
